  1. Neil,

You are on the top of my list as a great educator and child advocate. Your dedication to children runs longer than any river I know exists.

Best of luck and keep in touch.

    Fondly,

  2. Mr.B,

This is Gary Silverman. I ran Cross Country under you from 1977 - 1979. You were and I was told still are a great coach. Our team in 1979 was first in the state. We won every race and invitational except one invitational which we came in second because Lance Molton lost his shoe during the race. Do you remember we made him a trophy of a runner with one shoe.

Congratulations on you longevity coaching and have a great retirement.

  3. Coach,
I have watched you over the years have such a wonderful lasting impact on kids.
"A good coach will make his players see what they can be rather than what they are."
"One looks back with appreciation to the brilliant teachers, but with gratitude to those who touched our human feelings. The curriculum is so much necessary raw material, but warmth is the vital element for the growing plant and for the soul of the child."
Your lasting imprint on so many souls over the years is truly a gift that will live on in all of us who know and love you.

  4. Mr. Beaulieu, Mr. B, Coach, and Neil,

Wow! You have definitely touched all our lives. In fact, about 50 years of the Shea Clan. We will always remember the great times at Timothy Edwards, and Wapping School. You are a wonderful teacher, mentor, and friend. As a teacher, you communicated what needed to be done and what was expected. With this encouragement, we got the job done. As a mentor, you guided us in the direction that was best for each one of us. While being a friend, you shared with us your warm heart. You are someone that will always be remembered with a kind smile and a twinkle in your eye. Wishing you the best in your new adventure and we hope you will include some relaxation. Neil, may a rainbow run beside you in a sky that is always blue, and may happiness fill your heart each day your whole life through.

Love, Kelly, Deborah, Kathleen, Mary, John, Ann, and Margaret

  5. Neil,
We have known each other since 1970. You have always put your students first and shown leadership by example. Your love for life always shined through. I remember fondly when you were training for marathons with Bob Ford and would run past my house in Somers calling out to me. Also, I will remember our conversations about life through some of the tough times that we endured and how your positive influence was a beacon of light.
Thanks for the friendship and congratulations on an incredible career. The kids of TE were blessed to have you as their teacher and coach.
    Your friend,

  6. Mr B,

There's always that one person in your life that you know you'll never forget. That one person that will always hold a place in your heart. For me, that's you. You treated every girl on the team with so much care and respect. Our chants will always be remembered. 1...2...3...YES! You were such an incredible coach and like you said so often, "I don't know how I put up with you girls" I really don't know how you did it (: I know I will never have a greater coach than you. You said before one meet, "Cross country doesnt build character, it reveals it" I deffinitely found who I was as a runner, thanks to you. You taught us all so much. I'll miss you. Good luck with everything!

  7. Thanks for all of the coaching wisdom you provided. It has kept me running even today (since 1980-81 at TE).

The folks I run with today couldn't believe that it was important to me to leave work early and meet with you after running my first marathon at age 40. I just felt I had to see if you were still coaching and let you know your influence still keeps me running today (and not getting passed on the hills). I was glad to find you still coaching.

Enjoy the next chapter in your life.

  8. Mr. B,

Really and truly I don't know what to say except thank you! Thank you for the three years you gave me, you helped me figure out who I was as a runner and who I was as a person. You also helped me dig deep and push myself especially in this past season, I chopped off3 minuets from my time in 6th grade with your help. I believe you are not only a coach but a mentor a friend a motivator and someone who inspired people. I mean how else do you think you could get 30 girls to be quite for an hour :) I will never forget how you treat every girl like she is number one and like the most important girl on the planet. Lastly thank you for your fun and crazy attitude. You have a "uge" heart and a passion for running. Thanks again for all that you have done for me, you truly are an amazing person that I will never forget.

  9. Mr. B

I don't know how much to Thank you for introducing me to running. It is because of you that I succeeded as a strong runner throughout middle school and high school. You are the one who made me enjoy running and love it just the same! I can only remember my first day of TE and me showing up on the cross country field with my KED's sneakers...it was then I realized what cross country running was all about. I did not know what to expect until the day I get there on the field and met you. You were an amazing coach and such a wonderful inspiration. I thank you for your continued support and encouragement through my cross country running career! I wish you the best of luck in the future. I will never forget you!!!

  10. Mr. B,

I don't think words can even describe what an amazing coach and person you are. You helped me develop as a runner and learn much more about myself, in a way I probably couldn't have done otherwise. You have definitely inspired me to just keep going with what i strive for and if anyone gets in the way, step on their faces!!! I know that everyone would love when you said you would rip our faces off, and if we didn't say "Great, Mr. B" everytime you asked how we were, we would have to run a mile. From my first year of middle school to my last, i can't thank you enough for everything. You have a big heart and a very strong mind. I hope to see you in the future and best of luck in your retirement. I don't think that I could ever forget you!!!

    Best of Luck
    Love,
